Play-Dough and a Shoebox

Play-Dough needed for tomorrow for our Social Studies activity.

Students were given a note with a recipe last week.

1 C water
1 C flour
2 tsp. veg. oil
1/2 C salt
 2 tsp cream of tartar

Cook on medium heat until mixture pulls away from the side of the pan. Dough should not be sticky!

Shoe box- Students have a note about our archeological dig activity on Thursday.

Find 10 small items that represent you. Do not use valuables, pictures, or put things in baggies.

Write down your 10 items. Turn them in for your Edmodo assignment.

Bury your 10 items.

On Thursday, bring your box of dirt with your 10 things buried in a sack of some type so that no one will know which box is yours.

Bring some archeological tools like a spoon, toothbrush, paintbrush, etc.

Other info for Parents:

I'm in need of a room parent to coordinate other parents for holiday activities. If you could do this, please write a quick note in your child's planner.

I'm also in need of parents to come Friday mornings to watch the class from 8:25-9:15. I don't have anyone for this Friday. If you can help out, please write a quick note in your child's planner.

Please set up a parent account for Edmodo as soon as possible. Scroll down to the next post to see directions. This will be my main form of communication with you and I think it's important that you get all of the information about our class.

Thank you for sending me such great kids this year! We have had an excellent start and I'm really looking forward to knowing each student better. :o)
